Tess Daly, 47

Strictly Come Dancing host and former model, Tess keeps in shape by swimming – and tries to do so every day. ‘It’s great for the arms and upper body,’ she says. ‘I also love doing yoga, but I don’t like going to the gym. I prefer to sweat on a sun lounger somewhere exotic.’

Lorraine Kelly, 56

Our guest editor, Lorraine, puts her super-fit bod down to regular zumba classes and her Lorraine Kelly: Living to the Max (with Maxine Jones) DVD is out now (£18). ‘When I joined Maxine’s class it changed my life,’ she says. ‘I’ve gone down three dress sizes and, more importantly, I have kept the weight off. I feel fitter, healthier and happier than ever.’

Myleene Klass, 38

It may be 10 years since she showed the world her incredible bikini body on I’m A Celebrity… but the radio DJ and mum of two has stayed trim and toned, although she maintains that it’s not just by exercising. ‘My body has changed since having children,’ she says.
‘I do cardio workouts, but it’s housework – especially vacuuming – and gardening that keeps me fit.’

Melanie Sykes, 45

The TV presenter has always been fit but, as she’s got older, she’s toned down her favourite rigorous HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) workouts and added reformer pilates to her slower-paced exercise regime along with a healthy diet. ‘For me, diet is the big thing,’ she says. ‘You can work your abs until the cows come home, but if you’re eating rubbish, you’re never going to see them.’

Kym Marsh, 40

The Coronation Street star began pumping iron in the gym after she found herself stuck in a ‘fitness rut’ after having four children. Kym uses cardiovascular conditioning and strength training in 15-minute workouts, which were designed to produce an ‘afterburn’ effect on fat. ‘There’s too much focus on being skinny these days,’ she says, ‘and I don’t want to be skinny. I want to be healthier, fitter and have more energy – and, of course, look good.’

Holly Willoughby, 35

She may be a mum of three, but ITV’s This Morning presenter Holly looks fabulous. After giving birth to her third child, Chester, almost two years go, she took up running to lose her baby weight. ‘I have great intentions to exercise but never seem to keep it up,’ she says. ‘I don’t mind running though.’

Lisa Riley, 40

Former Emmerdale actress, Lisa, has lost 6st in just 10 months, dropping from a size 30 to a 16, thanks to getting active and revamping her diet. ‘I get up at 6am and go for a 40-minute walk, and at night, I do a zumba class,’ she says. ‘I do yoga a lot, too. Now, rather than take a lift, I’ll run up the stairs.’
