Putting together this issue has been a real treat. From going behind the scenes at Strictly Come Dancing and hanging out with guest ed, Tess Daly, to tasting masses of mince pies, festive canapés, and bottles of Prosecco (all in the name of work… you’re welcome!) – it’s been huge fun.
Tess is a such an inspiration; she’s the ultimate multi-tasker. Always the consummate professional, she combines her hectic work schedule with her passion for family, and her role as a mum is what she holds most precious. We dedicate this issue to Tess and all you women out there doing ordinary and extraordinary things. Check out Janet’s story on pg 246, where she reveals why she’s spending her Christmas Day helping the homeless.
We also speak to three women whose determination and passion have helped them achieve their dream jobs in the fashion industry (pg 74). Let’s not forget that this time of year isn’t just about lavish gift exchanges. The true joy is the feeling of being connected – to our families, our friends and our wider communities.
But it’s still important to make the festive season your own. colours. Don’t care for turkey? Try duck and orange salad (pg 170). And if, like me, you don’t fancy cooking at all this Xmas, go ahead and book a restaurant (I’m lunching with my 88-year old grandmother and two of her friends – they’re beyond excited).
Have a great Christmas and New Year!
