Advanced practitioner, El Truchan, offers a superior service at Perfect Definition, when it comes to microblading and permanent make-up, which is also known as semi-permanent make-up.

She is a fully qualified, certified and insured specialist in permanent makeup, microblading, micro-needling and medical tattooing.

El has been trained to the highest level by Nouveau Contour, part of the Nouveau Beauty Group, a body of world-leading experts in permanent cosmetics and, in 2016, she became trainer at Nouveau Contour and KB Pro Academies.

El is also a member of  the Royal Society of Medicine and has global accreditation from the Society of Permanent Cosmetic Professionals.

Personal experience imbues El’s practice

Being a user of permanent cosmetics for more than 10 years, El herself has experienced good and poor procedures. This has made her determined to ensure her clients at Perfect Definition receive the best care possible, with exceptional results. For some people, microblading, or permanent make-up, is a good solution for their beauty issues. Having perfect make-up at all times, no matter the situation, is important to many women, but the amount of time it takes to apply it each day can be a problem sometimes. It can also be hard to look your best when your job or lifestyle involves sports, outdoor activities or travelling. These issues can easily be resolved using permanent cosmetics which are more sophisticated than ever – so why not take a closer look? The most sought after treatments are 3D hairstroke or natural eyebrows, either microbladed or undertaken as permanent make-up. But El doesn’t just limit herself to the most popular treatments – at Perfect Definition, she’s also able to provide bespoke solutions, including ombre or powder eyebrows, all types of eyeliners and permanent lip make-up.

Microblading is a different procedure from tattooing

Microblading and permanent make-up involve applying pigments to the skin by using either a manual blade or a machine needles method. It is a treatment that would help someone who lacks shape, has sparse or over-plucked hair, or no brows at all.
Clients who visit Perfect Definition can also benefit from a natural-looking lash enhancement, perfect eyeliner with a flick, a youthful colour refreshment or even a lipstick look for their lips. Many people mistakenly think that microblading is the same as a traditional tattoo, such as body art from a tattoo parlour.

However, it is only visible for approximately 12-24 months, which is due to the pigments fading over time. Pigment application doesn’t enter the skin beyond the dermis, whereas a normal tattoo would pass through the dermis to a deeper layer of skin. Some people like to use pencils and eyeshadows over their microbladed brows from time to time. Even though they adore having the hairstrokes, they know how to enhance them for a stronger look and it takes much less time. This allows them to change their ‘look’ while having the eyebrows there at all other times.

Should I choose permanent make-up or microblading?

A good technician will be able to offer both methods and will advise you on the best technique for your desired outcome and expectations. El says: ‘If you get in touch with Perfect Definition, you will always speak directly to me as all treatments are performed by me. I don’t “outsource” treatments to other therapists.’ Having had vitiligo herself, El fully understands how looks can dramatically affect the way people feel about themselves. She will always give her clients her honest opinion and compassionate advice. There are many people who have permanent cosmetics for medical reasons. This is something that is close to El’s heart and, as well as financial support, she donates treatments to a number of charities.

El Truchan is a fully qualified advanced practitioner in permanent make-up techniques. She is also skilled in medical tattooing and restorative treatments used for medical conditions and following surgery. El holds a number of qualifications and has trained to the highest level, so her clients can be assured of the best service and care. She offers a range of treatments for men and women, including eyes, eyebrows, lips, facial and body aesthetics, scalp hair simulation, beauty spots and corrective work.

Conditions that can benefit from El’s treatments

El routinely deals with restorative treatments related to medical conditions, including:

  • Alopecia and trichotillomania.
  • Chemotherapy-related brow and hair loss.
  • 3D nipple and areola restoration following surgery.
  • Cleft lip.
  • Vitiligo.
  • Scars and pigment recovery.
  • Scalp micropigmentation for male and female pattern baldness.

In recent years, there has been an increase in substandard permanent make-up and microblading work.  This is usually a result of technicians being poorly trained.

In some circumstances, El may be able to correct poor work. She also undertakes saline removal treatments.  If she is unable to help a client personally, she can refer them to the most appropriate specialist, who may  be able to help instead.

El works in London across three locations: Bank, Canary Wharf and Harley Street.
