Seeking a greener abode?

By at home

People looking to rent homes are becoming increasingly energy savvy, according to research from E.On, a UK energy company. About 75% of UK tenants see the energy efficiency of a home as a key factor when it comes to choosing where to live.

And 48% of tenants are prepared to pay higher rents to secure a home that minimises their impact on the planet and their bills.

But landlords seem out of touch with tenant sentiment. Some 43% of tenants feel their landlords don’t care about the energy efficiency of their rental properties – even though it is a clear selling point.
